News Report

Posted by officerincivvies on January 10, 2009

Chilled Vancouver commuters faced their second day of winter hell today, as an additional 2 centimeter of the peculiar white stuff fell, bringing the lower mainland to its knees and causing millions of dollars worth of damage to the marijuana crops. Scientists suspect that the substance is some form of frozen water particles and experts from Saskatchewan are being flown in. With temperatures dipping to the almost but not quite near zero mark, Vancouverites were warned to double insulate their lattes before venturing out.

Vancouver police recommended that people stay inside except for emergencies, such as running out of espresso or biscotti to see them through Vancouver’s most terrible storm to date. The local Canadian Tire reported that they had completely sold out of fur-lined sandals.

Drivers were cautioned to put their convertible tops up, and several have been shocked to learn that their SUV’s actually have four wheel drive, although most have no idea how to use it.

Weary commuters faced soggy sushi, and the threat of frozen breast implants. Although Dr. John Blatherwick, of the Coastal Health Authority reassured everyone that most breast implants were perfectly safe to 25 below, down-filled bras are flying off the shelves at Mountain Equipment Co-op.

“The government has to do something,” snarled an angry Trevor Warburton. “I didn’t pay $540,000 for my one bedroom condo so I could sit around and be treated like someone from Toronto.”

I’m in the Globe and Mail

Posted by officerincivvies on December 18, 2008

It’s really not that exciting though and Jesse and Cory were in it too.

We just happened to be in the Peak 2 Peak Gondola at the same time as they were. Because they never asked who we were, I am the Australian Snowboarder, Jesse is a Japanese Skier and Cory is the Young Snowboarder from North Van.

Bigger Idiots?

Posted by officerincivvies on December 13, 2008

One reason why I don’t read the Province is because the number of idiots that write in and complain about stupid stuff, without any knowledge to back up their left-wingged hippy claims.  But now I have found a source of more of these idiots, the people that comment on cbc.ca news stories.  I need to stop paying attention to my news feed.

A Day of Something and Nothing

Posted by officerincivvies on December 11, 2008

Well… even though school is pretty much done now, I just sit home and do nothing but I managed to get a bunch done today.

This morning I got my first grade, for CMPT-310, nothing I was too proud of but I was expecting it. The only reason I did so shitty was because of SFU’s scheduling of exams. I solely blame them.

Then I managed to get mod_rewriting for Apache working on my project website. All in all it was not hard, nor did it take me a lot of time to do. I will write about how to do that later. Basically it allows me to have UR-Ales of websites to be www.mysite.com/thread/202/1/ instead of www.mysite.com/thread.php?id=202&p=1. Makes it easier for google to index that, and it just generally looks nicer.

Then I woke up at 9:30 am, something I never do. Jesse phoned me and it woke me up, so I just got up. I also did some other firsts, such as making a full bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast breakfast. Something I have never had time to make in rez. I also watched some morning cartoons, Arthur specifically, reminds me of my childhood as it was the same episodes from ten years ago.

After lunch I played some Knights of the Old Republic 2. I started playing that game again since I find it fun. This time I am trying to be evil and I must say, I honestly have a hard time playing a bad character.

I headed across campus and picked up my distance education material for my two DE courses, Biological Explanations of Crime and Intro to Religious Studies. Both courses seem to be ridiculously easy. I have to do an interview with a religious leader in the community and I have to do a research paper on any topic I choose relating to religion.

For the interview I am going to try and contact someone at the church of Scientology. Jesse seems to be really excited about it and wants to help video tape it / record it. If the Scientologists won’t let me then I will end up probably asking some boring mainstream religion. As for the research paper, I have no clue.

I also picked up most of my textbooks. I like new textbooks. Most of them this semester are art courses and they don’t seem to be as boring. I had to order one book, my CRIM 356 book, off of amazon.ca because it is only recommended and the bookstore wont stock it.

Cory also seemed to have found half of the wireshark answers so I am going to type up those and we should be done the project soon and I will just run across campus and pass it in, hopefully I will also pass the class.

I also ran into this news piece about some Ontarian man who built a female android. The first thing I thought about was, “he probably has sex with it” and he openly admits to having built it with breasts/nipples/vagina and with sensors in those areas. It will talk dirty to you if you talk dirty to it and it has a huge dirty vocabulary. Reminds me of that thirty year old virgin who has to build an android to get laid. Although he wont admit this; he also claims he built it as a women instead of a man because a male android was too threatening.

… Soon these androids will be harvesting us for electricity while allowing us to believe we live in some alternate reality. I bet Vaughan and Mori think this is such a cool thing, and that Hadley thinks it is bad for our privacy and the overconfidence and arrogance of the programmer will lead to our demise.

Social Networking

Posted by officerincivvies on November 21, 2008

I have many beefs with the media… and social networking… and idiots… I now have found combinations of all three.

Recently there was a south park epsidoe which inspired kids to make a facebook group called, “Kick a Ginger Day” which basically was a day to kick red haired people because they are “weird”.

Of course this kicking got one kid sent home for the day!

Of course this did not stop here…

All the way out in Sooke this series of events happened.

Now these series of events are calling for the media to get schools to ban Facebook!

edit: Even out in Calgary a beating happened, but with older kids, and now the police are looking at it as a hate crime. Of course the media seems to be over-exaggerating his injuries as the injured only had “minor bruising.”

Other schools knew of the kick a ginger day so they sent out warnings to children, which obviously ended up in scaring the young children half to death to go to school.

Even schools as far across the country and Newfoundland and Labrador were warning kids they would be “disciplined” if they participated in the events.

Oh noes.

But of course you cannot forget that lady in the states who pretended to be a boy on MySpace. She was talking with some girl who thought they were really close. Then the “boy” told her that he hated her. As a result she killed herself and the lady pretending to be the boy is getting charged with a series of ridiculous crimes.

Why can’t people just think.

Sarah Palin Is an Idiot

Posted by officerincivvies on September 20, 2008

For those of you who know who Sarah Palin is, you are probably thinking: “not another anti-Palin blog post!” While those of you who do not know who she is, the basic story is that she was a Mayor of a town, of 1000 people, then she became Governor in Alaska for the last two years. Now she has been chosen as John McCain’s Vice President choice. Her ideologies are very similar to that of George W. Bush and of John McCain.

Now before you all start to think this is a post about American politics I must say I care about American politics as much as I care about the politics of Venezula, Somalia, the Virgin Islands or Antartica. Basically, not at all.

Now in the last few days Ms. Palin’s Yahoo eMail, gov.palin@yahoo.com, was “hacked”, or so the media claims. That is right! The media claims that some hackers from 4chan’s /b/ broke through the Recover Password feature. The media now claims that free emails like gMail, Yahoo and Hotmail need to step up their security.

Now before you start panicking and thinking that your email is not safe, do not worry. The only reason her account was “hacked” into was because she is an idiot. And I use the word “hack” loosely, as it wasn’t even social engineering. The reason her account was broken into was because her security questions were ridiculously easy to answer and all the answers were found with a simple google search.

So here we have Sarah Palin, the next possible Vice President of the United States, who may possibly have to stand up to Putin, is failing to have some basic common sense on the internet. Once again people are forgetting that anything you put on the internet, is there for good, and can easily be found. She probably had all this information on Facebook and is now wondering how anyone could have possibly found it all out.

Clearly someone idiotic as this does not deserve to be the VP of anything.

Matt Damon say’s it best:

News

Posted by officerincivvies on June 27, 2008

Well as I am getting ready to go off to St. Jean it is time for another post regarding my favourite subjects, people with uneducated opinions, the news and people writing into the news with uneducated opinions.

Lately I have noticed that the main articles in the provinces are all pro-green articles. Since when is “drinking from a water bottle not good for the environment” a more important news piece than say the events that are happening in Zimbabwe.

Or why is it that I have to read, every day for the last two weeks, about this climate action dividend and the new carbon tax? Yes I know the tax is stupid. Yes I know it is not needed nor is it going to help. And no I won’t spend that dividend on something to help the earth going green. I already spent it on my train ticket to New York.

All this going green shiat is bull anyways, the earth has always been going through a natural trends of warming and cooling. But that is not the point of this post.

Or what about this new law where the police can charge those who are high with driving under the influence. I totally agree with this law and it makes sense. Yet according to the well educated people who write into the province, this law is “unconstitutional”, “not going to be able to charge people with it” and “breaching charter rights”.

To sum it up, after today’s paper I won’t have to read the province again for a long time, Left-winged political activists make me angry, and most people are idiots.

Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja

Posted by officerincivvies on June 27, 2008

“BARNEGAT, N.J. – It’s the case of the nonexistent ninja. Public schools in Barnegat were locked down briefly after someone reported seeing a ninja running through the woods behind an elementary school.

Turns out the ninja was actually a camp counselor dressed in black karate garb and carrying a plastic sword.

Police tell the Asbury Park Press the man was late to a costume-themed day at a nearby middle school.

The lockdown began shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday and lasted until 9:30.”

Good Luck, Bad Luck

Everything about this story is just ridiculous. In the words of Cory, “I do not care how old you are, that’s retarded.”

Solid Ground

Posted by officerincivvies on June 20, 2008

So apparently if you get grounded you can take your parents to court and the judge can over turn your grounding

What kind of country are we turning into if judges do this?
