Idiots Are Taking Over

Posted by officerincivvies on June 9, 2008

A few months ago I come up with an exciting idea that I would go to New York City after I had gone to training. Since I finish my training on 15 Aug I could go to NYC via train from 16 Aug to 21 Aug.

I phoned up the base that purchases my tickets and they said they would book me a return flight on 21 August.

In the base they have already scheduled me to have a leave pass to NYC for those dates.

This morning I wake up to find they purchased my plane tickets. I open it up to look at the dates and what do I see for a return flight? 16 Aug. Now I am not a mathematician, but a simple computing science major and I can tell that 16 != 21.

So I quickly phone up Air Canada to change the date, and after a bunch of hassle they said it was going to cost me $70 to do so and require a lot of work on there part (aka a lot of bitching and moaning for me to hear). They then mentioned that the people who purchased the tickets (the military) can change them today without costing them a cent.

So I emailed them up to hear what is going on, all I can do now is hope they can change it for me otherwise I am going to be spending more money that I do not have.

edit: It is being fixed, they had an oversight and they are fixing it all up.
