I had my first CMPT 363 class yesterday and so far it seems a bit dry but all in all I do not think the class will be too bad. Our professor is a little old British lady named Stella Atkins who seems really nice. It seemed really funny to me that a little old lady would be teaching a Computing Science course as it is not something you see every day.

We already our first assignment which is to discuss and rate a good and bad UI design, I think I might use Google Mail as my good UI and I need to find a bad UI. I thought about using GO.SFU but it was mentioned in class so I can’t do it now.

I also found the hotel I will be staying at in NY which is called the Soldier, Seaman and Airman’s Club which is a hotel just for us military folk and a room for two will end up costing a mere $30 a night. This is so much cheaper than anything else in NY that I could find and it is right downtown near the Empire State Building, the UN Plaza and Radio City Music Hall.

Now I need to purchase my train ticket, but in the mean time I am just going to go jam for a few hours… on Guitar Hero, then kill some bitches in Grand Theft Auto IV.

I also should mention that Stella Atkins used Wikipedia three times in lecture to explain to use the meaning of Ergonomics, Prototype and Affordances. It made me laugh, especially since we are told that Wikipedia is not a credible source.

Since I’m the one who mentioned go.sfu, does that mean I get to use it?

Even more funny than using Wikipedia is using Wikipedia by first Googling the word you are looking for. Even if you’re already *in* Wikipedia!
